Thanks for the informative post! What are the seed varieties that you found called? My MIL’s favorite flowers are carnations, the seeds are so hard to find and I would love to surprise her.

Are these plants perennial? I’m just thinking ahead over the years :)

Carnations generally bloom in 130-140 days when grown from seed.

I lightly covered them with seed starting mix. I have them under grow lights and on a heat mat. This is my first time sewing Floret seeds and I’m so disappointed. what am I doing wrong?

Are you looking for something like Carnation Chabaud Aurora: https://shop.floretflowers.com/products/carnation-chabaud-aurora. If not, you can try Johnny’s Selected Seeds.

My father told me about his father growing white carnations in Mallorca Spain. Growing up, my father would take me to Spain to visit family and he would take me to Las Ramblas to buy bouquets of white carnations to put on my grandparents grave. I want to grow these large blossomed, white carnations to remind me of those bygone times and to tell the story to my children and grandchildren.
